Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Nova Platforms Pty Ltd (ABN 26700458797, Sydney, Australia), which makes Hindu Pro. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Nova Platforms Pty Ltd, and "the app" means Hindu Pro and the services that it uses. When you use the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Who can use the app

You must be 13 years or older to use the app. If you are under 18, get the permission of a parent or guardian first.

Your account

You can use the app as a guest, with no name and no email address. A guest account is only on the phone where you started it. To use your account on your other devices, add your email address in Settings (Create an account). If the email address already has an account, you sign in to that account: the guest account and its data are deleted, and a guest subscription moves to that account. If nobody opens a guest account for 60 days, it can no longer be opened, and we delete it and its data.

When your account has an email address, you sign in with your email address and a code that we send to it. Keep access to your email safe: a person who can read your email can sign in to your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings, or by the steps on the Delete your account page.

What the app gives you

Hindu Pro gives you scripture, prayer and practice tools: daily verses, japa counting, a festival and fasting calendar, study plans, guides, stories, a daily reading from your rashi, and answers to your questions from an AI guide.

  • Scripture and content. The texts come from public-domain editions and other sources that we are allowed to use. Traditions, translations and practices are different from region to region. The app is for devotion and learning. It does not replace a teacher, a priest or your family's tradition.
  • Calendar. The app calculates dates and times (for example, tithi, sunrise and festival days) from astronomy and published rules. Your local temple or almanac can give a different date. Where it matters to you, check with them.
  • Daily reading. The reading from your rashi is for reflection. It does not predict events, and you must not use it to make important decisions.

Ask and AI answers

An AI model writes the answers in Ask. Before your first question, the app asks your permission to send your questions to the AI (see the Privacy Policy).

  • Answers can be wrong. They can misquote or misread a text. Check what is important to you with a trusted source.
  • Not professional advice. Answers are not medical, mental health, legal or financial advice.
  • In a crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line now. Hindu Pro is not a crisis service. You can find a free helpline at findahelpline.com.
  • Limits. The free plan includes 3 questions each day. Premium includes more questions, with a monthly limit on AI use and a limit on how fast you can ask, so that the service stays fair and available for all.
  • Reports. You can report an answer (touch and hold it). We read the reports to make the app better.

Rules of use

You must not:

  • use the app against the law, or to harm, harass or deceive another person;
  • try to get access to accounts, systems or data that are not yours;
  • copy, sell or share the app or its content in bulk, or use automated tools to get content or answers from it;
  • try to make the AI produce content that is illegal, harmful or hateful;
  • interfere with the app, its servers, or the limits that keep it fair.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

Premium subscriptions

Some features need Hindu Pro Premium, an auto-renewing subscription that you buy through the App Store on iPhone or through Google Play on Android.

  • The app shows the price and the billing period before you buy.
  • You do not need an email address to buy. To use premium on your other devices, add your email address in Settings, or tap Restore purchases there with the same Apple Account or Google account.
  • The store charges the payment when you confirm the purchase: Apple to your Apple Account, or Google Play to your Google account.
  • The subscription renews automatically at the same price and for the same period, unless you cancel it. On iPhone, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends; Apple charges the renewal in the 24 hours before the period ends. On Android, cancel before the current period ends.
  • Free trials. If a plan has a free trial, you pay nothing until the trial ends. The subscription then starts and renews automatically, unless you cancel. On iPhone, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. On Android, cancel before the trial ends. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, you lose the rest of the trial.
  • Cancel or change a plan on iPhone in the Settings app: tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, in the Google Play app: tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. When you cancel, premium continues until the end of the period that you paid for.
  • Refunds come from the store, under its rules. On iPhone, ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, see Google Play refunds.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription.

We can change what the free plan and premium include. If we raise the price of a subscription, the store tells you before the new price applies, and you can cancel.

Your content

The questions you ask are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run the app for you, as the Privacy Policy says. We do not use your questions to train AI models.

Our content and the licence we give you

The app, its design, its code, and the text that we wrote for it (for example, plans, guides, stories and readings) belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. Public-domain scripture stays in the public domain. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices that you own or control. On iPhone, the App Store Usage Rules also apply. On Android, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. You must not copy, change, or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.

Changes to the app and to these terms

We can change, add or remove features. We can also stop the app; if we do, we will tell you before it stops. If we change these terms, we will put the new version at this address and change the date at the top. If you continue to use the app after a change, you accept the new terms.

Ending

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, or if the law requires it. The sections about our content, disclaimers, liability and the law continue after your account ends.

Disclaimers and liability

We provide the app "as is". To the extent that the law allows, we give no warranties that the app is free from errors, always available, or right for your purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for a claim about the app is not more than the amount that you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms removes rights that you have under the Australian Consumer Law or under other laws that cannot be excluded. Where the law lets us limit our liability for a failure to meet a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of that.

Apple (iPhone app)

This section applies to the iPhone app. These terms also serve as the licence agreement for the iPhone app from the App Store.

  • These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
  • Apple has no duty to give maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app does not meet a warranty that applies to it, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app (if any). To the extent that the law allows, Apple has no other warranty duty for the app.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for any claim about the app, for example product liability claims, claims that the app does not meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  • If a third party claims that the app or your use of it breaks their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  • You confirm that you are not in a country under a United States Government embargo, or one that the United States Government calls a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on a United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • You must obey the terms of third parties that apply when you use the app, for example the terms of your mobile or internet provider.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. When you accept these terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

The law that applies

The laws of New South Wales, Australia, apply to these terms. The courts of New South Wales can hear any dispute. If you are a consumer in another country, the consumer laws of that country that cannot be excluded also apply.
